Lord knows I've logged my time at corporate events. Over the course of my 20+ year corporate life I was both an attendee and one that "mans" the booth many times over, both stateside and across the pond. I vividly remember the first time I worked a corporate event as a vendor. Our booth consisted of a folding table, a couple of chairs and 250 glossy, z-folded brochures. I remember how proud I was after fanning the brochures out in two groups on the table (truth be told, I stole that idea from the booth next to us.) Needless to say, my booth partner and I only got a few nibbles...which, I found out later, was pretty much par for the course. We were really only expected to pull one or two high-quality leads during the whole 2-day event! Fast-forward to 2018...and the booth at my last event was over 20ft wide, with wood flooring, an interactive video screen, leather cigar chairs and a two-thousand dollar expresso machine with our own barista...who knew how to make our corporate logo in the foam! All of this was in place to help us CLOSE at least 2 prospects each over the 2-day event, which was the new expectation. Wow how things had changed!
As we move further into 2024, the corporate event industry is buzzing with new trends and innovations. Whether you’re planning a conference, a product launch, or a team-building retreat, staying on top of these trends can help make your event a standout success. Today, I want to share some exciting developments in the industry, with a special focus on what's happening right here in Austin.

Top Trends Shaping Corporate Events
Hybrid Events: The blend of in-person and virtual experiences is here to stay. Hybrid events offer the flexibility of reaching a broader audience while maintaining the personal touch of face-to-face interaction. According to a recent report, 73% of event planners are expected to organize more hybrid events in 2024 (Photo Booth Insights).
Sustainable Practices: Sustainability is no longer a buzzword but a necessity. Companies are increasingly focusing on reducing their environmental footprint. This includes using eco-friendly materials, minimizing waste, and choosing sustainable venues. A study found that 88% of event organizers prioritize sustainability in their planning (Global Market Insights Inc.).
Personalization and Customization: Attendees expect events to be tailored to their interests and needs. This trend is driving the use of AI and data analytics to create personalized event experiences. From customized agendas to personalized swag bags, the goal is to make every attendee feel special and engaged.
Interactive Technologies: The use of AR, VR, and AI in events is transforming how attendees interact and engage. These technologies offer immersive experiences, such as virtual tours, interactive product demos, and gamified activities. A survey revealed that 68% of event planners are incorporating interactive tech into their events (GO360BOOTH).
Health and Wellness Focus: Post-pandemic, there’s a heightened focus on health and wellness. This includes offering healthy food options, incorporating wellness activities like yoga and meditation, and ensuring clean and safe environments. Wellness-focused events have seen a 60% increase in demand (GO360BOOTH).
